We have established a unique database of experienced construction workers across all trades who have passed a pre-employment Drugs & Alcohol test. There are currently over 500 on the database from across Scotland and the North of England.
By the end of 2012 this database will hold the details for at least 5000 experienced construction workers who have passed a pre-employment Drugs & Alcohol test from across the UK.
This information helps contractors meet their labour requirements for infrastructure contracts that require construction workers to be tested for Drugs & Alcohol in advance. Construction workers on the database will be guaranteed a continuity of work on these contracts as a result.
We can provide access to sustainable, non-subsidised employment opportunities for unemployed construction workers, after they pass a Drugs & Alcohol test and any specified pre-entry training required by contractors in growth sectors of the construction industry.
We can also design training programmes which guarantee that new entrants to the construction industry can access sustainable, non-subsidised job opportunities in these sectors. New entrants can be school leavers, unemployed 16-24 year olds, ex-Service personnel or workers who have been made redundant in other industries. Before candidates can access these programmes they must pass a pre-employment Drugs & Alcohol test.
